Rain on a trip is a letdown — but Maihama is a place where rain never leaves you with nothing to do. The parks keep running, and there are indoor spots by the station where you can spend a whole day. Start with your situation.

Going to the park in the rain

The parks open rain or shine. Three things to know:

  • Outdoor shows and parades may be cancelled or changed. Check the official Tokyo Disney Resort app for same-day operations.
  • Indoor attractions, restaurants and shops run as usual. Rainy days can even mean shorter waits at outdoor headliners — plan around them and the day goes smoothly.
  • Rain gear is easy to buy locally. Park shops, Bon Voyage by Maihama Station, and convenience stores sell ponchos and umbrellas. Wear shoes you don't mind getting wet.

If you haven't bought tickets yet, see the ticket guide. For getting there from your hotel, see the shuttle bus guide and taxi guide. Taxi demand spikes after park closing on rainy nights, so set up a ride-hailing app in advance.

Before you leave: rain-forecast prep

  • Pack one folding umbrella or poncho. Anything more you can buy locally — don't overpack.
  • Pick one "rainy day plan". Choose one spot from the table above and the on-the-day decision becomes easy.
  • Send your suitcase ahead. To avoid hauling luggage in the rain, consider same-day luggage delivery from the airport.
