When choosing a hotel for a Disney trip, “access” matters as much as price. But access is not one thing: how close you are to the parks, how easy it is from a JR station, how you get in from the airport, and how easily you can reach central Tokyo are four separate questions. Picking a hotel only because it is “close to Disney” can mean a painful airport transfer, or an inconvenient base if you also want to sightsee in Tokyo.
This guide organizes all 40 hotels in Urayasu by four destinations and compares “what is easy to reach from where” from a local perspective. Times and fares are estimates based on 2025–2026 research.
For getting to Urayasu/Maihama from the airports or Tokyo Station, see our separate [Airport & Tokyo Station Access Guide]({{ “/travel-guide/urayasu-maihama-access-guide/” | absLangURL }}).
Think about access as “four destinations”
You will not go wrong if you split hotel access into these four:
- The parks (TDL / TDS) — the star of any Disney trip
- JR stations (Maihama / Shin-Urayasu) — the base for arriving by train or heading into Tokyo
- The airports (Haneda / Narita) — the gateway for visitors from afar
- Central Tokyo (Tokyo Station / Nihonbashi area) — for those who want to sightsee beyond Disney
Decide which matters most for your trip, and the best hotel becomes clear.
1. Closeness to the parks falls into six patterns
Urayasu hotels split into roughly six types based on how you reach the parks.
① Connected / adjacent (the strongest) Tokyo Disneyland Hotel (about 1 min walk to TDL), Hotel MiraCosta (inside TDS), and Fantasy Springs Hotel (connected within TDS). No shuttle needed — zero transfer effort.
② Walking distance from a monorail station Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay (1 min walk from Bayside Station) and Toy Story Hotel (about 3 min). Close to a station, with the Disney Resort Line monorail to the parks.
③ Free shuttle to the monorail station Disney Ambassador Hotel, Hotel Okura Tokyo Bay, Grand Nikko Tokyo Bay Maihama, and Hilton Tokyo Bay. A dedicated shuttle takes you to Bayside Station to transfer to the monorail.
④ Far enough to require the shuttle Tokyo Bay Maihama Hotel First Resort (about 15 min walk to TDL) and Maihama View Hotel by HULIC (multiple, complex routes). Checking the free-shuttle timetable is essential.
⑤ Directly connected to JR Maihama Station Hotel Dream Gate Maihama. Connected to the ticket gates — about as light as it gets if you travel by train.
⑥ Shuttle or local bus Henn na Hotel Maihama runs a free shuttle bus to Maihama Station (frequency and timetable can change — check the hotel’s official site before you go). Four Stories Hotel Maihama has no direct TDR shuttle and uses the local bus via Maihama Station (last bus 23:00).
Partner and official hotels in the Shin-Urayasu area are generally 15–25 minutes from the parks by free shuttle. Convenient — but the shuttle stops get crowded right after the parks close.
2. [Local blind spot] Only two hotels are actually “walkable” from JR Maihama Station
It is surprisingly little known, but there are essentially only two hotels you can walk to from JR Maihama Station.
- Disney Ambassador Hotel (about 8 min walk, officially signposted)
- Hotel Dream Gate Maihama (connected to the gates, about 1 min walk)
For every other official hotel, even the official sites assume “taxi from Maihama Station” or “transfer to the monorail” — a walking route is not envisioned. Hilton and Okura, for example, are described as “about 5 min by car from Maihama Station,” and walking is a detour.
It is safest to drop the idea of “get off at Maihama and walk to the hotel.” With suitcases or children, plan around the shuttle or monorail.
3. Airport access: the limousine bus is a flat ¥1,300 — the difference is “distance to the stop”
A key point for Haneda access: the limousine bus is a flat ¥1,300 for adults to any hotel (jointly operated by Airport Transport Service and Keisei Bus Chiba West). There is no fare difference by area. What differs is only “the distance from your hotel to the stop” and “the travel time.”
Hotels with a dedicated stop right out front (0 min walk) Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, Disney Ambassador Hotel, Hotel MiraCosta, Fantasy Springs Hotel, Hilton Tokyo Bay, Hotel Okura Tokyo Bay, Sheraton, Grand Nikko, and Tokyo Bay Maihama Hotel First Resort (reservation required). Many major Maihama-area hotels let you board the limousine bus right in front of the hotel, making airport access very easy (about 40–50 min).
Two Shin-Urayasu hotels also have an “in-front” stop
- Mitsui Garden Hotel Prana Tokyo Bay … dedicated stops for both Haneda and Narita directions on the hotel grounds
- Hyatt Regency Tokyo Bay … added an on-site stop in December 2024 (about 47–52 min to Haneda)
These two are especially smooth for airport transfers in the Shin-Urayasu area.
Hotels that use the Shin-Urayasu Station bus stop Urayasu Brighton Hotel (1–2 min walk), Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay (1 min walk), and others. About 40–45 min to Haneda from the limousine stop (Stop H) at the south exit of Shin-Urayasu Station.
The Urayasu Station area is train-based Hotels around Urayasu Station have no limousine stop; the basic route is by train (Urayasu → Nihonbashi → Keikyu / Toei Asakusa Line → Haneda), about 60 min.
Note | Some limousine buses to the Mitsui Garden / bayside hotel area do not stop at certain times of day. Confirm whether your stop is served on the timetable before booking or boarding.
4. An unexpected sweet spot | The Urayasu Station area is unbeatable for “Tokyo sightseeing”
“We want to enjoy Tokyo, not just Disney” — for those families, the Tozai Line / Urayasu Station area is a hidden gem.
From Urayasu Station on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line: about 18 min to Otemachi (next to Tokyo Station) and about 16 min direct to Nihonbashi. Asakusa, Ginza, and Tokyo Skytree are all within easy reach. If you plan “Disney on day one, Tokyo sightseeing on day two,” this area offers outstanding value.
- Urayasu Viewfort Hotel (1 min walk from Urayasu Station)
- BAYHOTEL Urayasu Station (1–2 min walk, kitchen in every room)
- Urayasu Sun Hotel (3 min walk from Urayasu Station)
The trade-off: there is no free shuttle to the parks; it is 25–30 min by local bus (from Urayasu Station toward Maihama, ¥240 for adults). This area trades park-closeness for central-Tokyo access and room rates.
5. If you want to reach Tozai Line / Urayasu Station (from the Maihama / Shin-Urayasu area)
Some travelers need to get from a Maihama/Shin-Urayasu hotel to Tozai Line Urayasu Station. The basic route is via Maihama Station, then local bus route 9 (via Horie / Fujimi), about 18–20 min.
As a geographic exception, Henn na Hotel Maihama and Four Stories Hotel Maihama are in the Fujimi/Horie area and may be closer to Urayasu Station than other Maihama hotels (confirm locally).
Summary | Recommendations by the “destination” you prioritize
- Want the shortest path to the parks → Tokyo Disneyland Hotel / MiraCosta / Fantasy Springs Hotel (connected/adjacent)
- Arriving by train and want to walk from the station → Hotel Dream Gate Maihama (connected to JR Maihama) / Disney Ambassador Hotel (8 min walk)
- Want an easy airport transfer → Maihama-area official hotels / Mitsui Garden Hotel Prana Tokyo Bay / Hyatt Regency Tokyo Bay (all with a limousine stop out front)
- Want Disney plus central-Tokyo sightseeing → the Urayasu Station area (Viewfort / BAYHOTEL Urayasu Station / Urayasu Sun Hotel)
The best answer changes with “where you want to go.” Pick the hotel that fits your itinerary.
