When you visit Tokyo Disney Resort with small children, the hotel choice strongly shapes how the trip feels. Choose on price or brand alone and you may regret it later — “we couldn’t pop out for hot water for the bottle or for diapers at night,” or “getting an exhausted child from the park to bed took forever.”
Urayasu has 40 hotels; this guide compares, from a local perspective, the ones that genuinely make life easier for families, across five axes. Prices are estimates from 2025–2026 research; check current availability and rates on booking sites.
First, the “five viewpoints” for choosing a family hotel
More than brand or star rating, these five matter on a trip with kids.
- Is there a large bath / hot spring? — relaxing in a big bath with your child melts away the day
- Are there spacious rooms for the family? — capacity for 4–6, and whether co-sleeping is free
- Is a convenience store nearby or in-house? — for night drinks, diapers, and snacks on demand
- Closeness and ease of return from the parks — can you get a tired child into bed quickly?
- Lightness around luggage — same-day baggage hold and a coin laundry
Below are recommendations for each viewpoint.
1. Hotels with a relaxing large bath / hot spring
Being able to share a big bath with your child raises the trip’s satisfaction by itself. Only a few hotels in the Urayasu area have a large bath or hot spring.
Hotel Emion Tokyo Bay (Shin-Urayasu area) The only TDR Partner Hotel with a natural hot spring, including an open-air bath (extra fee; confirm hours). It also has Japanese-style and balcony rooms, easy for families with small children.
Maihama Eurasia (SPA & HOTEL) (Chidori area) The only natural hot spring in the Maihama resort area. A serious facility with open-air baths, lying baths, a cave bath, sauna, and stone spa. Free shuttles from all three stations (Maihama, Urayasu, Shin-Urayasu) mean you can get there without a car.
Mitsui Garden Hotel Prana Tokyo Bay (Shin-Urayasu area) A top-floor observation bath with bay views, open long hours (6:00–9:00 morning, 18:00–01:00 night). It is free and guests-only — a nice touch. Rooms for up to six suit three-generation trips.
Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay (Maihama area) The marble-clad “Maiyu” large bath with sauna. The in-house “OASIS” recreation complex (kids’ area, mini golf, and more) keeps children entertained on rainy or rest days.
2. Hotels with “spacious rooms” for the whole family
With kids, whether four can share one room — and whether co-sleeping is free — matters. Some Urayasu hotels have rooms for up to six.
- The Royal Park Hotel Maihama Resort Tokyo Bay (Chidori area) … a large new hotel opened February 2026, with rooms for 4 (up to 6) themed on the world’s seas, popular with children.
- La’gent Hotel Tokyo Bay (Shin-Urayasu area) … up to six; value pricing yet all non-smoking with air purifiers, reassuring for families.
- Mitsui Garden Hotel Prana Tokyo Bay (Shin-Urayasu area) … besides the observation bath above, it has large rooms for up to six.
If you want to be immersed in the Disney world, Toy Story Hotel and Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel (Wish / Discover) also accommodate 4 plus 2 co-sleeping children of elementary age or younger. Many hotels offer free co-sleeping for young children, so confirm conditions when booking.
3. Reassuring at night: hotels with a nearby or in-house convenience store
A quiet worry of family travel is the “midnight supply run.” Going outside for diapers, water for formula, or a child’s snack is a hassle. A hotel with a store in-house or right out front has value for that alone.
Hilton Tokyo Bay (Maihama area) The only official hotel in Urayasu with a 24-hour in-house convenience store. Being able to shop even late at night is a big plus for families — locals know it as the “dependable in-house store,” with guests of nearby Okura and Sheraton even coming here to shop.
Hotel Dream Gate Maihama (Maihama area) Connected to the JR Maihama Station gates, with a “NewDays Maihama” inside the building. Check in right off the train and finish your shopping on the spot — especially good for families with a lot of luggage.
Hoshino Resorts 1955 Tokyo Bay (Shin-Urayasu area) A Lawson in the building, so the night supply run is covered.
La’gent Hotel Tokyo Bay (Shin-Urayasu area) A 24-hour convenience store adjacent to the hotel.
Note: many Disney hotels have an in-house shop (“Shop Together”) for drinks, snacks, and daily goods, but it may be guests-only at certain hours (e.g., midnight to 6:00 a.m.) and may not stock meal items like bento or onigiri. When you want to stock up properly, an outside convenience store is more convenient.
4. For getting a tired child to bed quickly (choose on closeness)
Small children run out of battery by evening. A long trip after closing means they fall asleep in the car or stroller, and waking them is a struggle. “Short distance from park to room” is the greatest luxury for families.
The shortest: three “connected/adjacent” hotels
- Tokyo Disneyland Hotel … about 1 min walk to the TDL main entrance
- Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta … located inside TDS, with a private entrance
- Fantasy Springs Hotel … connected to the new TDS area (opened 2024)
These three cost more, but for “getting a tired child to bed fast,” nothing else compares.
The station-connected option Hotel Dream Gate Maihama is connected to the JR Maihama Station gates. One stop by train after the park, then straight to your room.
Local note | watch the return-shuttle situation Shin-Urayasu hotels are about 15–25 min from the parks by free shuttle. Convenient, but the stops get very crowded right after closing, and you may wait for the next bus. Also, Henn na Hotel Maihama plans to reduce its Maihama Station shuttle from July 2026, and Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel’s shuttle from Shin-Urayasu Station to the hotel cannot be used (hotel departure only). For shuttle-dependent hotels, always check the last-bus time before booking.
5. Choosing by budget | a family of four can aim for the ¥10,000s
Family trips add up. Urayasu has many hotels that stay affordable while keeping Disney access.
Hotel MyStays Maihama (Chidori area) Among the best value in Urayasu, from around ¥5,000 — and about a 6-minute walk to Tokyo DisneySea, combining cost and location.
MyStays Shin-Urayasu / FlexStay Inn Shin-Urayasu (Shin-Urayasu area) Steady low prices from around ¥7,500–7,800 for two, with relatively gentle peak-season rises — good for budget-focused families.
Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel (Shin-Urayasu area) The most affordable price tier among Disney hotels — popular with families who want a taste of the Disney world while keeping costs down.
Local note | with cheap hotels, budget the “transport” together Lower-priced hotels are often a little farther from the parks, with fewer free shuttles or a local bus assumed. MyStays Shin-Urayasu’s direct Disney shuttle runs only a few times at night, and a taxi is realistic on the ground. Estimate “room + transport effort” together and you won’t go wrong.
6. Light on the last day too | baggage hold & coin laundry
Heading straight to the park after check-out is a classic family last-day move. Whether you can leave your bags, and do laundry on multi-night stays, are quiet but useful points.
Same-day morning baggage hold Many Disney and official hotels hold bags at the front desk. Mitsui Garden Hotel Prana Tokyo Bay has a paid baggage delivery service linked with the “Bon Voyage” Disney store at JR Maihama Station, so you can head to the park hands-free.
Coin laundry (for multi-night stays) On multi-night stays where kids’ clothes get dirty, a coin laundry helps.
- Tokyo Bay Maihama Hotel First Resort (Maihama area) … wash ¥500 / dry ¥200 per 15 min, auto-detergent
- Hoshino Resorts 1955 Tokyo Bay (Shin-Urayasu area) … coin laundry available
- Maihama View Hotel by HULIC (Maihama area) … has the “Spa Rose” large bath. A coin laundry is being prepared; confirm availability when booking.
